Collection
There are several sources of post-consumer PVC waste:
- Construction and renovation businesses
- Demolition businesses
- Individual people making home improvements
- Collection sites, transfers stations and container parks managed by local authorities and waste management companies
Waste can be brought to a collection site, a transfer station managed by local authorities or a waste management company. It can be also delivered directly to a recycler. Local authorities and waste collection companies, however, are not obliged to segregate and transfer the PVC waste to a recycler: They may also export the waste, send it to a landfill or opt for another form of disposal. This is why Recovinyl has decided to make the recycling option more attractive for waste collectors by providing financial incentives.
Everybody can participate in the programme of Recovinyl. It can be a collection company, construction and renovation companies, shops redecorating their facilities etc. Whoever knows where to find post-consumer PVC waste or is already in possession of such, can always bring it to one of the certified recyclers, listed on the Recovinyl"s webpage. Anyone who is in possession of post-consumer PVC should be interested in the concept. In practice though, it is easier and better to participate in the programme treating minimum 10 tons per month. Bring regularly your waste to a certified recycler so he will be able to claim the incentives for the total volume included in your shipments.
